Smile Tree Clinic Commences In Kathmandu

Following a late evening arrival in Kathmandu on 10-18-16 to prepare for a month of trekking and climbing in the Khumbu Region, ADM president Daniel A. ‘Danny’ Bobrow’s first order of business was to visit the Sri Mangal Dvip (SMD) School in the Boudi District.  The School is home to one of two Nepal-based Climb For A Cause / SmileTree sponsored oral health education and treatment projects.

In a little over two weeks, the Team of five dentists, two hygienists, and nine laypersons, all of them volunteers, will treat over 2,000 children.

As many know, Climb For A Cause / SmileTree projects are structured to ensure that each child treated has a dental chart created for them, and is guaranteed a visit from a dentist at least once every two years. “We’re committed to ensuring these children receive the benefit of regular dental visits” says ADM president, and the Dentists Climb For A Cause Foundation’s executive director Daniel A. ‘Danny’ Bobrow.

To date, the Foundation has delivered dental care to over fifty thousand deserving children in seventy projects such as the one currently underway in Kathmandu.  The equivalent dollar value of care delivered is in excess of $10 million.

None of this is possible without the generous support of individuals and businesses inside and outside of dentistry.

There are several ways to help “put BIG smiles on little faces.” These include:

  1. Climbing For A Cause – Join CFAC in one of its Annual Hiking Events.  2017 marks its 20 Anniversary.  Hikes are one day in duration and, while physically challenging are not considered ‘technical’ ascents.
  2. Become a ‘Branch Office’ of the Smile Tree – For as little as $75 a month you can help deliver desperately needed care and education to needy children domestically and abroad.  Branch Offices receive complimentary promotional support to ensure their good works are not kept a secret, compliments of ADM Cause Related Marketing.
  3. Volunteer to serve on a CFAC / ST Oral Health Education and Treatment Project – dentists, hygienists and non clinician alike are welcome to apply.  Those who have participated report a life transforming experience
  4. Do all three – CFAC /ST Alumni have met like minded professionals while Making A Difference by participating in the Annual Event, being a Branch Office and serving on a project.
