ADM President Shares Update On Dental Clinic
And here’s a Special Message from those we serve.
With personal thanks to Global Dental Relief and Wangchuk Rapten Lama, the Sri Mangal Dvip’s Medical Officer.
Hi, it’s Danny Bobrow, coming to you from Kathmandu, at the Sri Mangal Dvip School in eastern Kathmandu where the first of two oral health education and treatment clinics have just gotten underway. In the next seven days, sixteen volunteers (5 dentists, 2 hygienists, and 9 laypeople) will deliver care and education to over one thousand children and needy adults, and then just three days later we do it again. That’s over 2,000 people treated in just over two weeks.
We couldn’t do it without your support, Thanks to you, since 2007, we’ve delivered care to over 50,000 children at 70 such clinics with equivalent care valued at over $10 million US.
What we find particularly gratifying is that it’s not merely one time care, or what I term ‘flash in the pan dentistry.’ Each child gets their own dental chart and commits that they see a dentist at least every two years. It may not be the same dentist, but in this way we assure they are not only educated about what constitutes good oral hygiene but also receive any necessary care so they can lead a healthy, happy life free of oral pain, and be contributing members to their society
On behalf of everyone whose lives your generosity touches, I thank you for sharing our vision and commitment to better oral care worldwide.
Here’s to helping another 50,000 children!
